FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What do I need to bring?
You will need a valid Washington State Freshwater or Combination Fishing License. If we are fishing for Salmon or Steelhead, you will need to have a Catch Record Card. Bring clothing for rain or shine. Sometimes our weather can be unpredictable so you will want to dress appropriately. I always recommend dressing in layers. Bring any food or drink you would like. It is recommended that you keep a cooler in your vehicle to keep your catch fresh for the drive home.
  • What Fishing License do I need?
You will need a current Washington Freshwater, Combination or Fish Washington license. If we are targeting Salmon or Steelhead (not Kokanee) you will need a current Catch Record Card. Kids 14 and under do not need a license, but they will need a Catch Record Card if fishing for Salmon, Steelhead or Sturgeon. Licenses can be purchased at most sporting goods stores and large retailers. More info can be found out at https://wdfw.wa.gov/licenses/fishing. Of course, feel free to reach out to me and I can let you know which licenses you will need and where to buy. FYI if buying online, you may not get your Catch Record Card in time for our trip. In that case I recommend buying from a dealer as you must have a physical copy to fish for and retain Salmon, Steelhead or Sturgeon.
  • Do you provide gear?
Yes, all gear and tackle are provided.
  • What if I have never been fishing before or don't have a lot of experience?
No problem! I can accommodate those of all skill levels.
  • Payment?
Cash and Card payments are accepted. Sometimes we operate in remote areas with little or no service, in those cases I may request that payment be made in cash.
  • Deposit?
A $150 deposit is required for all trips and is non-refundable. This is included in the total cost of the trip. For example, if you booked a Sockeye trip priced at $250 per person for 2 people ($500), you would pay $150 now and the rest ($350) the day of the trip. I can take deposit payments by card. If for some reason I have to cancel the trip due to closures, weather, poor fishing conditions or unforeseen circumstances then I will either refund your deposit in full or if you prefer, I will reschedule you to the next available date that works best for you.
  • Where do we meet and what time?
Exact locations and Time can vary. I will reach out a few days prior to our trip with exact location, time and any other details. I understand this can be frustrating at times not knowing the exact meet-up details right away, but fishing is always an evolving situation that changes from day to day, and I do my absolute best to give my clients the best fishing experience.
  • How long are trips?
6 hours or until limits are caught of the targeted species. 4-hour trips are available for Humpies.
  • How do "2nd trips" work?
During Sockeye season when fishing is excellent, I may offer mid-morning/afternoon trips that take place after I complete my 1st trip for that day. Typically, we limit early, and I shoot for a 9am start on these second trips. However, that is dependent on what time my first trip is done for the day. If you book a 2nd trip, we will be in constant contact throughout the morning.
  • Will I be paired with someone I don't know?
No, all trips are private boat. You will only be with people in your group.
  • Can I have my cleaned and filleted?
Yes, all fish will be filleted and bagged for you at the end of the day to take home.
  • I'm coming from out of town and looking for a hotel or place to stay. Any ideas?
Yes, if you are having trouble finding a place or are looking for a good place to eat, feel free to reach out and I will help point you in the right direction.
  • Is Alcohol allowed?
Yes, I mean what's fishing without a cold one, right?! Just long as you're 21 don't get tattered. Should you get impaired or belligerent you will be taken back to the launch.
  • What about Marijuana?
NO. We are a federally licensed operation. All Cannabis products are strictly prohibited on board.
  • Where can I keep up with updates and availability?
The best place will be Facebook at facebook.com/torreyssportfishingadventures and other social media. I am always posting updates on there. Also feel free to call me at 425-345-6232.
